The stage is set for the Pink PTC.

Friday morning sees the professionals enter the fray after a long day on Thursday to whittle down the amateurs into their slots in the last 128 in Gloucester.

No doubt it will be the customary long qualifying day and these rarely finish if ever at all before midnight so if you are in the area there is every reason to go along and see the world’s finest players at close quarters, picking and choosing the matches or players you want to follow.

If you see a bloke in glasses with a can of Strongbow in his hand and he asks you could he show you round Gloucester, on no account say yes. This will only lead to at best carelessness and at worst certain death. Just say no.

I wish I was able to make it over there for a couple of days but unfortunately I’m otherwise engaged this weekend but there will be live streaming at the usual bookmaker sites and constant updating of match prices, including in-running on the live matches from Apollobet and others.

Hopefully the ‘Pink PTC’ as it’s come to be nicknamed will again be a great success and we’ll see some top drawer snooker over the next few days. Ronnie O’Sullivan plays on Saturday if anyone fancies going to watch him live.

To check the head to head records on any match simply fill in the players names on Cue Tracker here.

Recommended First Round Match Bets:

3 point acca pays over 3/1 at Apollobet on Tom Ford, Scott Donaldson, Daniel Wells and David Morris. 1 point acca on all those players winning (-1.5 frames) is just on 13/1 at the same firm.

2 x 1 point singles on Chris Wakelin (7/4 Corals) and Elliot Slessor (2/1 Bet 365) and a 1 point double on both those players with a +1.5 handicap advantage pays over 5/2 at Apollobet.

2 points on Alexander Ursenbacher (+2.5 frames) at 9/10 with Apollobet
