Welsh Open Day 2
Tuesday sees day two over in glitzy Newport as we move into the Last 32 round. It’s still best of 7 frames so until there is anything that interesting to write about before the matches get longer I’ll not do a big long blog.
In the meantime you can take a look at my outright preview for the tournament here which gives plenty of pointers as to who I think will progress today, you can read that by clicking here. I won’t be recommending any match bets on these as I can’t really see much value out there but I’ll give selections at the bottom of the post.
The prices on the matches from blog partners Apollobet available here and they are still betting on the outright market here.

It would be very easy for BBC Wales to so the same as all the other BBC Tournaments and stream all the sessions on bbc.co.uk (not just doing a simulcast of BBC2 Wales).
It means that the semis and final are the only matches shown live (with the exception of 1 hour of live coverage in the evening and/or whatever frames they randomly show live in the afternoon). Hope that ITV4 aren’t going to adopt this ‘back to the 70s’ approach…

Don’t what BBC Wales is playing! Apparently there were no cameras rolling for the morning session, but BBC Wales manage to show some stuff from Robbo v Burns and Mags v Hamilton in their half an hour of coverage before Stevens v Liang starts.
If they have the footage, why not let Eurosport, the betting sites or liveworldsnooker.tv show it? It seems like they want the Welsh Open to die.

It’s not technical problems, they are just not scheduled to show them. Confirms that this is becoming something of a non-event.

Apparently there are no cameras for the morning session for the rest of this week. BBC Wales is probably trying to save money.

No TV production for the 10:30 matches; that’ll be the same tomorrow and Thursday as well.

Think they have some technical difficulties, as nothing live on Eurosport as well. MJW v Chuang there at the moment.

It seems the first session is not streamed on betting sites. Anyone knows the reason?

One should send a clip to Mark Allen of when Liu Chuang calls a push shot on himself in the deciding frame,
not even Joe Johnson could see it in slowmo.
