Belgian PTC Finals Day

Robbo yesterday

It’s Finals Day in Antwerp after the second day of qualifiers yesterday saw the last 16 line up completed, play starts this morning at 9am UK Time.

Qualifiers yesterday were Jack Lisowski, Graeme Dott, Mark Allen, Ben Woollaston, Tom Ford, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, Welsh amateur and verbal sparring partner of MJW Andrew Pagett and Neil Robertson.

Robbo gave us all a right laugh in the early session as he turned up for his first match looking like he’d slept in the bins at the back of the venue. All pride in personal appearance went out of the window as the dishevelled and famously tardy Aussie turned up with neither straight nor curly hair and dark rings around his eyes, a far cry from the tidy blonde Adonis that usually greets us on our screens. One can only assume that his straighteners, hair brush and probably his alarm clock were seized by Belgian customs in a cruel but effective practical joke.

But it didn’t stop him from qualifying of course and the line up today is extremely strong, it’s also nice to see Un-Nooh putting the disappointment of a recent whitewash by Steve Davis behind him and playing back to his best again…..

First up on the box this morning to accompany your tea and crumpets is Ali Carter against John Higgins and I’ll be shouting for the Cap, as he still holds the best chance we have in the outrights, I actually marginally fancy him to win that one but will just be watching and cheering him on. Michael White is also still in the outright book at a fancy big price and two wins from him will see that land the each-way part so fingers crossed also for the Welshman.

Recommended Bet: 2 points on Robertson to win EPTC at 4/1 with Paddy Power. 1 point double on Perry and Ford pays almost bang on 2/1 with the same firm. 2 points treble on Carter (+2.5), Dott (+2.5) and Selby pays 4/5 at Apollobet
