Polish EPTC Day One

It’s not just the players that love Gdynia

Below is the schedule of matches as things get underway in sunny Gdynia in Poland for the second European Players Tour Championship sponsored by Betfair.

With news that Cao Yupeng has withdrawn from the final stages of the event, I’m not sure why but I hope it’s not the old visa problems again (it’s not, according to Stuart Bingham he hurt his hand playing football), this means that Stuart Bingham receives a bye through to the Last 16 and that John Higgins and Ding Junhui will be the only match left of this round to be completed on Saturday morning, on account of Ding’s Premier League fixture tonight.

My brief outright preview is here.

In terms of match betting, PTC’s are always a bit of a lottery but I’m going to major on singles and there are four that I’m prepared to plump for from this lot:

Recommended Bets: 4 x 2 point Singles and a 1 points Acca on Harold (5/6 Stan James), Gould (4/7 generally), McLeod (11/10 Apollobet) and Dott (4/6 Apollobet). The Acca pays almost 9/1 at Apollobet.

All times below are UK Time

Andy Hicks 0-4 Liang Wenbo (Eurosport)
Anthony McGill 2-4 Tian Pengfei

Stephen Maguire 4-1 Michael Wasley (Eurosport)
Jamie Burnett 4-2 Mark Joyce
Kyren Wilson 2-4 Kurt Maflin

Jimmy White 4-1 Dave Harold (Eurosport)
Michael Holt 4-2 Michael White
Ben Woollaston 1-4 Martin Gould

Mark Selby 4-0 Fergal O’Brien (Eurosport)
Joe Perry 4-1 Dark Mavis
Ken Doherty 1-4 Rory McLeod

Neil Robertson 4-3 Jamie Jones (Eurosport)
Stephen Lee 4-3 Andrew Higginson
Graeme Dott 4-0 Tom Ford
