SB Classic Snapshot: Marianne Williams

Filed under: snookerbacker @ 8:30 am

It’s time for another Snookerbacker Classic snapshot where one of the entrants to the event tells us a bit more about themselves. This week one of the lady competitors to the competition, Marianne Williams, tells us why she entered and what her hopes in the event are.

Hello Marianne, what made you enter the Snookerbacker Classic?

I enjoy playing competitively and I would like to broaden my snooker experience on and off  the table meeting other competitors and I feel that The Snookerbacker Classic gives me the opportunity to do so.

What attracted you to the event?

World Snooker endorsement made it very attractive. Offering me the competitor the chance to play and watch up and coming amateurs as well as  ex-professionals who are trying to make a comeback!

Which event or events are you playing in?

South West Snooker Academy and Chelmsford Snooker Centre.

Tell us a bit about your snooker career to date.

I play on two ladies circuits WLBSA and EASB. Last year I played for England in the European open in Romania. I am currently ranked 11 on World Ladies Circuit and 6th on the EASB Ladies Tour.

Is the chance to experience real matchplay conditions in top class venues more important to you or are you in it to win it?

I would say the both the above apply!

Mrs SB will be at venues giving prizes for things like ‘best dressed player’ and ‘nicest haircut’ – think you have a chance in any of those?

I will leave it up to the judges!

What are your ambitions in snooker?

To improve and reach further than I have so far. But most of all to enjoy the journey!

Finally, are you looking forward to the SB Classic?

Yes – You bet I am SB! Excited and absolutely thrilled that I am taking part!

If you want to enter this exciting new event and win the chance to enter the Q-School for little more than your bus fare, or you would like to win the cash alternative prize then please click here for details of the dates and venues. I can reserve places at all the events, however please be aware that the South West Snooker Academy event has only 6 places left available and the opening event in Leeds in December has just 10 places left. So you’d better be quick.

If you have entered the event and want your profile to appear here simply answer the questions above and send them to me at [email protected]
