EPTC Final Stage Updates

Bjorn again.

So Mark Selby could not pick up where he left off yesterday and was beaten quite easily by Ricky Walden who must now fancy his chances.

Shaun Murphy wasted no time in disposing of Jimmy Robertson and is now perhaps discovering a bit of form which has so far deserted him this season. Mark Williams, who received a warning during the match for an early concession, won the big clash against Ding whose fellow countryman Liang Wenbo made short work of former PTC winner Tom Ford. He now faces the ‘tough as teeth’ Fergal O’Brien who at 7/4 just might have the game to frustrate Liang.

A stirring comeback saw local man Bjorn Haneveer pip Alfie Burden to a quarter final place and the marathon between Martin Gould and Peter Ebdon saw the World Snooker scoreboard freeze on the final pink before revealing that it was a win for Gould.

Fergal: Wily and Worldly Wise.
