John: Back in Business.

John is free to return to snooker in November but has been fined £75,000, according to early reports.

The main two charges were dropped, Higgins found guilty on two other charges and fined for bringing snooker into disrepute.

Higgins has been handed an six-month ban (backdated to May) for breaching rules about discussions about betting, and for failing to report an approach from a would-be corruptor. He has been fined £75,000.

(I think I predicted that, wish I’d had a bet on it)

But on the most serious charges related to fixing, he was cleared.

According to SPORTINGINTELLIGENCE Pat Mooney, was found guilty of discussing and planning frame-fixing done without Higgins’ knowledge, a tribunal hearing ruled, having considered detailed evidence from an extensive investigation – and won’t ever be allowed to play any role in snooker again.
