Sanyuan Foods China Open Qualifiers – Day 2 10am starts

Filed under: snookerbacker @ 8:50 pm

Michael White - Young Welsh hope.

Landed the treble that I posted up today/yesterday (depending on when you’re reading this) with Wollaston winning 5-0 and the other two winning 5-3. I hope a few of you managed to get on though I did post it only a few minutes before the 10am starts. The late finish and the obvious poor standard of Couch’s match almost had me contemplating suicide and wondering why I didn’t just have a single at around the same odds on Watanna, as a more sensible poster on Betfair did (well done BW – but I’d never have laid that 7/4 in a million years!), he seems to breeze through these decidedly dodgy first stage matches and is obviously still a lot better than some of the players entering at this level. But today you would expect the standard to be higher with the likes of Tom Ford, Dave Gilbert, Jimmy White and my old pal Barry Pinches entering proceedings.

Tom Ford takes on the young Welsh protege Michael White who many are tipping for great things and a 5-4 win yesterday against an unpronounceably named opponent will give him some confidence. But I’m going to take a small treble again in the morning on Ford,  Dave Gilbert and David Morris which pays around 9/4 at both Paddy Power and Sportingbet. Outside chances have to be given to Ben Woollaston and Ian Preece but they are not ones I’ll be touching.

I’ll do a seperate thread on the later starts as there are a few big names involved then and some quite tasty looking ties.

Match 17 – Tom Ford v Michael White

Match 20 – Rod Lawler v Matthew Selt

Match 21 – Robert Milkins v Mei Xiwen

Match 22 – Peter Lines v Joe Jogia
